This book discusses and compares the institutional arrangements or rules for food safety and international competitiveness in the UK, Canada, US and Australia. It also offer a framework of towards optimal food safety system by: (1) harnessing market megatrends and international and local institutional arrangements that influence all trading countries that produce or consume beef; (2) choosing the right public and private decision-making systems and (3) developing good institutional arrangements. How the four counties fare with respect to these three elements are also discussed.
